Paper Recycling for Business

Over 200 businesses already benefit from this recycling service with around 5 tonnes of paper being collected and recycled into newsprint and other paper products each week.

What types of paper can be recycled?

You can recycle brochures, magazines, newspapers, office quality paper and the contents of junk mail. This paper recycling service can not currently accept envelopes, sticky notes, photographs, telephone directories or plastic coated paper.

How can I recycle my business paper?

Paper can be collected in a number of ways:

  • For businesses in Perth City Centre paper can be collected in plastic recycling sacks once a week.
  • Alternatively, and for the rest of Perth & Kinross, paper is collected in 240 litre blue lidded wheelie bins.
Bins with a larger capacity may be available on request.

Perth & Kinross Council offer a flexible collection service in a dedicated paper collection vehicle.

Why should my business recycle paper?

Paper can make up a large proportion of business waste and is easy to recycle.

Recycling your paper:

  • Does not incur landfill tax so can save your business money.
  • Saves resources. Recycling 1 tonne of paper can save up to 17 trees and 32,000 litres of water.
  • Saves energy. Recycling 1 tonne of paper can save up to 42,000 kWh of electricity.
