Green Waste Recycling for your Business
Perth and Kinross Council are pleased to announce that your business can now recycle green waste through its green waste collection service.
Why should my business recycle Green Waste?
Green waste from landscaping and grounds is a biodegradable waste that can be easily collected and then composted to produce a useful product.
What types of Green waste can be recycled?
The following materials may be put in your green waste bin:
Grass cuttings Hedge trimmings
Weeds Sawdust and Bark
Small twigs Flowers & Plants
Leaves Coffee grounds & teabags
Please do not put the following items in the garden waste bin:
- Cooked food, meat, fish or dairy products
- Large branches or logs
- Soil stones or rubble
- Plastic bags
- Glass
- Or any other types or waste
How can I recycle my business's green waste?
The green waste will be collected from the kerbside in a Brown lidded 360 litre bin on a specified collection day. The bins can be uplifted every fortnight from April to November and every 4 weeks from December to March. Monthly or seasonal lifts may be available.
The bin will be marked with a ¾ fill marker to prevent weight problems and should be presented with the lid closed at kerbside by 7.30am on the calendar date with no excess side waste.
Reducing Your Waste
Collecting green waste and composting it at a central facility:
- Prevents the production of methane which contributes to Global Warming
- Reduces the need for landfill
