Waste & Resources Action Programme logoTo help you make your own compost Perth & Kinross Council together with the Waste & Resources Action Progamme provide compost bins throughout Perth and Kinross for a small charge.

Compost is produced when your garden and kitchen waste is broken down in the presence of air. It can then be used as Mulch, Soil Conditioner, Lawn Conditioner or Seed and potting mix.

All bins come with a home composting guide and a 5 litre kitchen caddy (pictured below) for compostable food waste.

Kitchen Caddies and Liners

To order a kitchen caddy or replacement liners please call the accessories helpline on 0870 849 4858 or order online through the Recycle Now pages. Please allow 14 - 28 working days for delivery.

Kitchen caddies come in a range of sizes and cost between £5-£10. Liners (a roll of 52, made from GM-free starch which are fully biodegradable) are available from £5.

52 Biodegradable liners, please state the size you require, 5, 7 or 10 litres dependent on the caddy you use.


Note if you live in the trial area for kerbside recycling you will use 7 litre liners if using the Stelo vented 7 litre caddy.
