Perth and Kinross Waste
Almost 47% of the waste collected in Perth and
Kinross through the kerbside recycling services and at Recycling
Centres and Points is now reused, recycled or composted.
The majority of households in Perth and Kinross now receive a
kerbside recycling service that allows them to recycle paper, cans,
cardboard and mixed plastic packaging in their blue lidded bin, and
food and garden waste in their brown lidded bin. To see if your
household is on this service please see the
kerbside recycling collection pages.
Other ways to recycle
For householders who are not currently on the
kerbside recycling service we also encourage the use of local
recycling centres and points. These facilities also offer all
householders the opportunity to recycle materials that are not
collected at the kerbside, such as glass and textiles.
On collection day
Please make sure your kerbside wheeled bins are put out at the
agreed location by 7:30 am on the day of collection. If you are
unsure where to present your bin to please contact the Customer
Service Centre on 01738 476476.
- Do not overfill your bin and ensure that the lid is closed
- Do not put out additional waste including garden waste next to
your bin as this is not permitted and will not be uplifted
- Do not put any bricks,
soil and rubble or
timber in the bin
- Do not put liquids, such as
paint, in the bin
Failing to present your bin correctly will result in your bin(s)
not being emptied.
For more information on this please see our Waste and Recycling Bin Policy.
Special uplifts for Bulky items
On request there is also a chargeable
special uplift service for bulky household items such as
cookers, 3 piece suites, tables and other large items.
