The information below shows you what materials we do and do not accept in your blue-lidded bin if you are on the alternate week collection service. If you are not sure what collection you are on please check our postcode finder information.

Some handy hints... No bottles tops - please remove all bottle tops from your plastic bottles and dispose of the tops in your general waste bin Materials should go into your blue-lidded bin loose (no plastic bags) No glass - please recycle this at your local Recycling Centre or Point Please rinse out your cans and plastic bottles and containers before placing in the bin Please ensure aerosol cans are completely empty before placing in your bin

Paper

Yes Please You can put the following paper into your blue-lidded bin:			No Thanks Please do not put the following in your blue-lidded bin:
		Brochures, leaflets, newspapers and magazines Including: junk mail, promotional leaflets, travel tickets, posters, glossy magazines and all types of newspaper			Post-it notes
		Telephone directories Including: yellow pages and telephone directories			Metallic wrapping paper
		Books and catalogues Including: hardback, softback books and catalogues			Plastic bags or liners
		Other paper Including: envelopes, printer, photocopier, note paper, non-metallic wrapping paper and greetings cards

Cardboard

Yes Please You can put all types of cardboard packaging into you blue-lidded bin, including:			No Thanks Please do not put the following in your blue-lidded bin:
		Food packaging cardboard Including: cereal packets and cardboard sleeves from ready meals			Drinks/food cartons, cardboard contaminated with plastic
		Egg boxes Cardboard egg boxes (no polystyrene)			Cardboard contaminated with food
		Cardboard tubes Including: toilet roll tubes and kitchen roll tubes			Polystyrene and other non-cardboard packaging materials
		Cardboard packaging items Including: toy, computer and household goods boxes, grocery boxes such as toothpaste and washing powder boxes			Plastic bags or liners

Cans

Yes Please You can put all aluminium and steel, food and drinks cans (and their lids) into your blue-lidded bin including:			No Thanks Please do not put the following materials into your blue-lidded bin:
		Food cans Including: Soup, pet food, fish, meat, fruit and vegetable cans			Paint tins
		Drinks cans Including: Fizzy drinks cans and alcoholic drinks cans			Aluminium foil
		Aerosol cans (Please make sure they are empty and lid is removed)			Plastic bags or liners
		Biscuit and sweet tins

Plastics

Yes Please You can put the following plastic items in your blue-lidded bin:			No Thanks Please do not put the following in your blue-lidded bin:
		Soft and alcoholic drinks plastic bottles Including: Fizzy drinks bottles, milk bottles, water bottles, cider bottles			Plastic film/wrapping
		Rigid plastic packaging Including: food trays, fruit punnets, ice cream tubs, yoghurt pots (please rinse and clean)			Plastic bags or liners
		Detergent plastic bottles Including: Washing machine liquid bottles, fabric softener bottles, washing up liquid bottles			Polystyrene
		Cosmetic plastic bottles Including: Shampoo and conditioner bottles, hand wash bottles, moisture cream bottles

Please put the materials into the bin loose. Please put your bin out by 7.30 am on the day of collection.
