  • Pitlochry
  • Aberfeldy
  • Blairgowrie
  • Friarton (in Perth)
  • Kinross

Engine Oil

Engine oil can be disposed of at all Recycling Centres with the exception of Bankfoot Recycling Centre

Paint

Reusable paint can be donated to Perth RePaint Project. For paint not suitable for reuse please follow the following advice-

Please let the paint harden and put it in the green-lidded waste bin or the general waste skip at a Recycling Centre once it is no longer liquid.

1) You can buy a paint hardener: One packet contains enough crystals to harden 2.5 liters of water based or latex paint. It is easy to use, works in minutes and is not toxic.

2) Add sawdust, sand or soil to the tin and leave the lid off until the paint becomes solid and dry (please pierce the dried paint before disposing of it to ensure it's fully hardened).

3) Leave the lid off the tin to allow for ease of inspection. If the lid is metal and well cleaned, it can be disposed of at the kerbside in the blue-lidded bin or in the scrap metal skip at Recycling Centres.

Bricks, soil and rubble

All of these inert materials can all be placed in the inert skips at all of our Recycling Centres with the exception of Bankfoot Recycling Centre.

Timber

Smaller sizes of timber can be placed in the brown-lidded bin. A roungh guide would be no longer than 3 foot and no wider than your wrist. For larger pieces of timber, please recycle using the timber skips at all Recycling Centres with the exception of Bankfoot Recycling Centre.
