What Happens to the Scrap Metal?
The scrap metal collected by Perth & Kinross Council is
sorted into ferrous and non-ferrous then reprocessed into new
metal by sub-contractors.
Why Recycle Scrap Metal?
It is much more energy efficient, and therefore more
cost-effective, to make new metal from scrap metal
instead of raw materials. The process also requires less water and
produces less air pollution.
