Aluminium Foil
The average household uses 1.1kg of recycable foil per year. Foil can presently be recycled at Friarton Recycling Centre in Perth.
Please do not put Aluminium Foil in Can Recycling Points as it cannot be recycled by the same process. Foil is made from a slightly different alloy than the one used for aluminium cans.
Which kinds of foil are accepted?
Clean Aluminium foil, takeaway trays and foil chocolcate wrappers are accepted. Foil covered paper wrappers are not accepted.
How do I know that it is Aluminium Foil?
To check whether it is aluminium foil scrunch up the wrapper, if it uncurls then it's not aluminium.
What is the foil recycled into?
Recycled foil can be used to make car engine parts.
