About PKRNN

With over 8 million disposable nappies going to landfill each day within the UK, Perth & Kinross Real Nappy Network (PKRNN) is a local organisation which aims to reduce the number of disposables entering our waste stream.

We are a voluntary group of local parents, with representation/support from Perth & Kinross Council, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, and health professionals.

We provide information, advice and support about the wide range of real (washable / cloth) nappies to local parents, health professionals, nurseries and others.  PKRNN does not have a commercial interest in nappies and is a not for profit organisation.

PKRNN currently employs two part-time staff through funding from Perth & Kinross Council’s Community Waste Fund and is administering a range of incentives, funded through the INCREASE Programme.

How we can help

We have a comprehensive real nappy 'library' which contains samples of modern, cloth nappies and accessories. We also offer the chance to borrow one of our lending kits and from time to time run other schemes to help you to work out which type of nappy will suit you best.

With our staff having personal real nappy experience, and a team of volunteers with the same, we like to think we can answer all your real nappy questions and concerns. And if we don't know the answer we have a wide range of contacts in the real nappy world to try next!

We offer talks and displays throughout the Perth & Kinross area, be they for baby & toddler groups, antenatal classes, health professionals, school groups etc.

We run regular events, including our monthly 'Nappuccinos', where you can meet other real nappy users, as well as PKRNN staff and volunteers. We also produce a regular newsletter and can add you to our e-mailing list to receive this, as well as invitations to our events.
