Real Nappy Nurseries and Childcare

Last updated | 08/09/2011

It’s all very well using real nappies at home but what happens when you return to work or your baby/child goes to a childminder or nursery?

Just Ask!!
The good news is that most childminders and nurseries don't take much persuading, once you’ve shown them how convenient and fun modern real nappies are.  Of course, the most important thing is to provide them with a nappy system that works and is easy to use, especially where several people may be involved in changing your child's nappy.

Demonstrate
It’s also important to give them a proper demonstration of your system to make sure they are comfortable with how it works.  If they need any persuading make sure they realise that you will be taking the dirty nappies home each night – you are not expecting them to wash them for you (although see the entry for Old Schoolhouse Nursery below).

Also, explain how they will have less disposable nappies in their bins if your child comes to nursery in cloth nappies!
