Remember to recycle your real Christmas tree this January
Last updated | 09/01/2012
Perth & Kinross Council is reminding residents that they can
recycle real Christmas trees in their brown-lidded bins. They need
to be cut down into small enough sections that easily fit into the
brown-lidded bins and will not get stuck while the bin is being
emptied. As a general rule, branches should be no wider that your
wrist and short enough in length that the lid of the bin can be
comfortably closed.
If you do not have a brown-lidded bin, or your tree is too big to
fit in the bin, you can dispose of real Christmas trees at any of
the eight
Recycling Centres.
And remember, Christmas cards and non-metallic wrapping paper
produced over the festive period can also be easily recycled.
For householders with blue-lidded bins, Christmas cards and
non-metallic wrapping paper can be put in here, alongside other
recyclable materials such as cardboard, rigid plastic packaging and
cans, including aerosols.
Christmas cards and non-metallic wrapping paper can also be
deposited in the paper banks at each of the 91 Recycling Points and
eight Recycling Centres in Perth and Kinross.
