Recycling for Schools
With effect from 1 April 2012, all schools in Perth and Kinross
will be moved onto a recycling scheme similar to the household
service. Schools will be able to use both their
blue lidded bin(s) and brown lidded (cardboard) bins for all
kinds of paper and envelopes, cardboard, food and drinks cans,
plastic bottles, plastic containers and aerosols.

Some other ideas for reducing the amount of waste that your
school sends to landfill include:
- composting
- using both sides of the paper before putting it in the paper
bin
- reusing text books
- reuse of materials for art classes
- asking suppliers to take back packaging
- recycling aluminium foil (these can be recycled in can
banks at recycling centres and points)
- recycling ink cartridges
- recycling or donating old clothing
- recycling or donating mobile phones
- use rechargeable batteries
