Waste Education Boardwalk (WEBWalk)
One of our latest projects is the building of an innovative
interpretation centre, the WEBWalk, at our Friarton Recycling
Centre, Perth.
Community groups, schools and any other interested
parties can visit the site with a Waste Awareness Co-ordinator
who will be able to illustrate the issues facing waste and
recycling and the solutions by use of illustrative displays
and panels, and interactive games and activities.

The WEBWalk is fully enclosed by a fence to ensure safety at the
busy Recycling Centre.
Built out of recycled materials, the interpretation centre
provides views over Perth, the harbour, waste transfer
station, weighbridge and the Recycling Centre.
Visitors will be able to appreciate the full life cycle of waste
and the problems of litter and landfill, as well as the types of
material they can recycle, and their resulting products. In
addition, the possible solutions to the problems of waste, are
investigated.
A visit to the interpretation centre can be adapted depending on
the type of group, age, areas of particular interest etc. Please
let us know before your visit.
To arrange a visit please contact The Customer
Service Centre on 01738 476476 or email recycle@pkc.gov.uk. A booking
form and a risk assessment can be downloaded from the column on the
right.
