Community Waste Related Projects
Last updated | 22/02/2012
Everybody produces waste; it is almost impossible to go through
your day without creating a certain amount of waste in some form or
another. However, it is possible to reduce the amount of
waste that is produced and therefore limit the impact
this has on our natural environment.
In Perth and Kinross, we actively encourage community
participation in waste related projects. All the
reuse projects and charity shops in Perth and Kinross and Perth
City Centre are detailed in the
Perth and Kinross Charity Shop Map, which details what
doantions they accept, the range of items that they sell and what
their organisation supports.
Below are some of the Perth and Kinross Reuse Projects which you
may not be so familiar with:
- Salvation Army Furniture
Reuse Project - based at the Riverview Business Park in
Perth
- Transform Furniture Project - based on Scott Street in
Perth
- Starter Packs Perth - based in Perth and
diverting good quality household items from landfill for reuse
- Perth College WEEE Centre - which refurbishes
computers and other electrical equipment before selling it on for
reuse at affordable prices.
-
Perth & Kinross Real Nappy Network promotes the use of
reusable nappies
- The Perth Bike Station is a bike
reuse and recycling project that encourages people to take up
cycling for commuting or for pleasure
