Perth and Kinross Cittaslow Business Supporters Scheme
Perth & Kinross Cittaslow has followed the
example of other Cittaslow towns in the UK and has
set up a Supporters Scheme that recognises and promotes local
businesses that work in ways that are sympathetic to
Cittaslow principles.
Businesses that want to be recognised as Cittaslow
Supporters must respond positively to a dozen simple
questions about their business.
- Do I offer any products or services that are unique to my
business?
- Do I increase customer choice with my range of products or
services?
- Have I drawn on local traditions to develop my products or
services?
- Do I support local events and community activities?
- Have I adopted business practices that help conserve the
environment?
- Am I a member of any schemes that recognise good environmental
practice?
- Do I offer customers local produce or products?
- Do I highlight or promote any local produce or products that I
offer?
- Do my products or services contribute to or encourage healthy
living?
- Do I provide any special products or services for young
people?
- Do I work with any local community organisations?
- Can I help to promote the principles of
Cittaslow?
Each Cittaslow Supporter must be able to
respond positively to at least half of these questions.
There is no cost to being recognised as a Cittaslow
Supporter and there are a variety of benefits including
promotion and networking.
