Chief Social Work Officer Annual Report 2010 - 2011
Perth and Kinross Council has a long history of strong community
planning partnership working as a means to delivering the best
possible quality of life for individuals and families and social
work and social care services have made a significant contribution
to this, particularly to those vulnerable and disadvantaged
individuals and groups. The greater national policy emphasis on
early intervention and prevention; individual and community
capacity building within localities; and the importance of a
skilled workforce to deliver services is entirely consistent with
the values and aims of social work and social care services and
will put demands on social work and social care to be at the centre
of delivering this agenda.
The
Chief Social Work Officer Annual Report [pdf: 1MB]
provides a summary of the issues that social work and social care
services have dealt with over the last year and how well they have
done so. There are well established governance and performance
structures in place in Perth and Kinross Council and this report
should be read in conjunction with these.
