Child Protection Inspections
In this part of the child protection website, the Perth and
Kinross Child Protection Committee has provided information and
advice, about the forthcoming Child Protection Inspection 2011,
which all practitioners working with children and families, across
the public, private and third sectors in Perth and Kinross may find
helpful.

Child Protection Inspection 2011
Between Monday 8 August 2011 and Friday 26 August 2011, the new
scrutiny body known as Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland
(SCSWIS) will oversee, coordinate and lead the second Child
Protection Inspection across Perth and Kinross.
The first Inspection took place towards the end of 2008/early
2009. Following the first Inspection, HMIE published their HMIE Perth and Kinross Inspection Report 2009,
which was very positive.
This year's Inspection will be carried out in compliance with
the revised HMIE Quality Indicators 2009 - Inspection
Tool.

Care Inspectorate Child Protection Inspection Report 2011
On Tuesday 25 October 2011 the Care Inspectorate published
their Joint Inspection of Services to Protect Children
and Young People in the Perth and Kinross Council Area
Report.
CPC Single Improvement Plan 2011
Following on from the Inspection, on Tuesday 1 November 2011 the
CPC approved the
CPC Single Improvement Plan 2011 [pdf: 220KB].
This Plan presents, what is effectively, the improvement agenda
for the CPC in 2011/2012 and beyond. It will be regularly
monitored, evaluated and reviewed by the CPC and the CPC Quality
Improvement Sub Group. The CPC will provide regular progress
reports to the Children and Young People?s Strategic Partnership
who will continue to provide direction, leadership and scrutiny of
the Plan. These Progress Reports will include information and/or
evidence of outcomes and impacts
