National Guidance and Local Inter-Agency Child Protection Guidelines
On 13 December 2010, the Scottish Government published their National Guidance for Child Protection in Scotland
2010.
Across Scotland, Child Protection Committees have been asked to
publish, disseminate and implement this national guidance.
Perth and Kinross Child Protection Committee has made this a high
priority and the process of dissemination and implementation is now
well underway.
To assist practitioners, services and agencies in the public,
private and third sectors across Perth and Kinross to understand
and implement this national guidance, the Perth and Kinross Child
Protection Committee has made the following useful resources
available:
Perth and Kinross Inter-Agency Child Protection Guidelines
2011
Following publication of the national guidance, Perth and
Kinross Child Protection Committee has completed the review and
update of their existing guidelines and on 1 May 2011, has
published their
Perth and Kinross Inter-Agency Child Protection Guidelines 2011
[pdf: 1.6MB].
These guidelines effectively translate the national guidance into
the local child protection policy and practice context and replace
the previous version published in 2006. They come into effect
immediately and are considered to be the over-arching inter-agency
child protection policy and practice document for Perth and
Kinross.
They will be kept as a dynamic electronic resource and will be
updated on a regular basis as and when necessary.
