Sub Groups and Short Life Working Groups

Function  and Purpose

Perth & Kinross Child Protection Committee has a number of Sub Groups.  These are etiher standing groups or short life working groups created for a specific task.

Standing Groups

  • Training (Chair: Caroline Mackie - Service Manager, Planning, Performance and Partnership Working)
  • Practice (Chair: Alison Irvine - Service Manager, Children in Need and Child Protection)
  • Quality Improvement (Chair: Bill Atkinson - Head of Service, Children and Families' Services)
  • Voluntary Organisations Child Protection Forum (Chair: Arlene Honeyman, Senior Social Worker, CHAS)

Short Life Working Groups 

  • Child Protection Messaging
  • Policies and Procedures

These groups undertake the work of the Committee, meeting within the Committee's bi-monthly cycle.  The groups report to the Committee on a regular basis to ensure that necessary work is progressed.

Representation for each Sub Group is on a multi-agency basis.  Some attendees may be existing Committee members whilst others are welcomed to attend to offer their expertise or experience in a relevant domain.

In addition to the above there are a number of other groups actively working to support the Child Protection Committee.  These include:

  • Independent Schools - Child Protection Group
  • Child Protection Officers Network
  • Pantayside Training Consortium
