Information for children and young people
This page has lots of information for children and young people
about how to keep safe. There are lots of useful links below
for you to read.
Making you feel safe
All children have the right to be kept safe from
harm. If you are worried about something, and not sure
what to do, there are lots of people who can help. You could talk
to someone in your family who you trust, or to a teacher, a social
worker, the Police, or you could call Childline on 0800 11 11.
There are various things that we can all do to help you. We can
listen to you, and give you information on how to deal with your
concern.
In some cases, if it is right for your own situation, we can take
these steps: we can carry out a
Child Protection Investigation [pdf 346KB], hold a
Child Protection Conference [pdf 449KB] or hold a Children's
Hearing.
The most important thing is, if you are worried about something
and don't feel safe, please tell someone who can help you.
CEOP
(Child Exploitation On-line Protection) is a fabulous
website you can visit to get loads of advice on keeping yourself
safe, whether gaming, using mobiles, chatting on-line, using
podcasts and blogs. Also keep a look-out for the CEOP button
at the top right hand section of their web page where you can go
and report abuse and get the help you need. We also have some
useful tips on
internet and mobile phone safety.
