All children and young people have the right to be protected and safe from harm.  We all have a responsibility to help keep children safe - whether or not we work directly with children and their families.

This page contains our Child Protection procedures, our Child Protection Committee information and links to websites which may be useful for workers.

This leaflet is for everyone involved in bringing up children, and explains that some children do indeed sexually abuse other children, how we can recognise the warning signs and the action we can take to prevent it.
ACPOS - Keeping Children Safe - Information Disclosure About Child Sex Offenders
This leaflet explains how parents, carers or guardians of children under 18 years old can make a formal request for the disclosure of information about a named person who may have contact with their child if they are concerned that he or she might be a registered child sexual offender.
ACPOS - Keeping Children Safe - What We All Need to Know to Protect Our Children 
This leaflet provides general information about child abuse, the signs of child abuse and advice on reporting suspected child abuse, as the more difficult we make it for abusers to come between children and parents or carers, the better-protected children will be.

It is everyone's job to ensure that children and young people get the help they need whent they need it.  Information sharing, confidentiality and consent are key elements of this and it is vitally important that all practitioners have a clear understanding of their critical importance in every day practice.

This protocol formalises the mutually agreed working arrangements between Perth and Kinross Education and Children's Services' (ECS) - Children and Families Service and Perth and Kinross Housing and Community Care (HCC) - Adult Care Teams, including Learning Disability, Access and Adult Service Teams when working with children and young people affected by a parental learning disability.
