Gleneagles Day Opportunities
Gleneagles Day Opportunities is a centre for excellence for
adults with profound and multiple disabilities.
Parents, carers and service users paid a key part in the design of
the centre and the services it offers.
The centre boasts high quality, specialist equipment that provides
new opportunities for people of different capabilities to enjoy and
develop from.
This includes a traction system that allows people with no or
little mobility to move freely from one part of the building to the
other, and a lifestyle development kitchen suitable for learning
skills and sensory (sound, smell, taste) appreciation.
It has practical working space for staff from the Council and
also from other agencies where that would benefit service
users.
And features throughout the centre, such as signage inspired by
drawings done by people with learning disabilities, come together
to create a relaxing and welcoming environment.

initial viewing of the centre prior to attending and an initial six
week trial period. After this trial period, the service is agreed
upon and the service user is given regular update meetings and a

Some people who have attended Special Schools or Units have already
