Improvements to Learning Disabilities Service
Learning Disabilities Services in
Perth and Kinross are going through a lot of exciting changes at
the moment.
Following discussions with staff, service users and carers the
Council is changing services to make sure that they fit around the
individual, rather than people having to fit around the services.
That means helping people to access homes, jobs and leisure
facilities in their own areas.
The Council has been working closely with service users, carers,
the Scottish Consortium for Learning Disabilities, Independent
Advocacy, the service users ACE group (run by Enable), PUSH
and Perth College to make sure that the changes made have an impact
on the services provided by the council, and work well with the
services available from further education and voluntary groups.
