Tourism and visitor attractions

Perth and Kinross has so much to offer visitors: stunning scenery, year-round events, delicious local produce, the peace of rural living, the buzz of city life.

The list of attractions and activities is long and very varied, for example:  the world's tallest hedge, Scotland's smallest, oldest and highest distilleries, outdoor sporting pursuits, indoor eating, drinking and shopping, castles and palaces.

Perth & Kinross Council works with our partner organisations to develop Perth and Kinross as a welcoming, rewarding tourist destination.

Here you will find information on where to stay and what to do in Perth and Kinross.

Enjoy your stay!

Perth 800 Events Programme

Our events are grouped around three main themes of Perth 800. Each theme in turn will help meet the objectives of Perth 800 which are to engage local communities, encourage civic pride, stimulate economic growth in Perth and Kinross, enhance the national and international profile of Perth City and Perth and Kinross and to set the scene for a bid for City Status.

Local history and heritage

If you would like to find out about some of the local archaeological sites, if you would like to research the history of a particular village or your own family, or if you have an artefact you'd like to learn more about, then you'll find lots of useful sources of information to help you carry out your research here.

Museums and Galleries

A wealth of information and objects is present in the Perth Museum and Art Gallery, Alyth Museum and Fergusson Gallery. Find out more about our collections which have been officially designated as a Recognised Collection of National Significance to Scotland.
