Parking in Perth and Kinross
Throughout Perth and Kinross the Council is actively involved in
the provision and operation of public parking.
The Council operates a total of 28 charging car parks with
a total of 2158 spaces and 20 free car parks providing a
further 581 spaces. The centre of Perth is covered by a
controlled parking zone where 1219 on street spaces are
controlled by a pay and display charging system.

Variable Message Signs
There are continuously updated electronic signs on the
approach roads into the city centre showing the direction to and
the availability of spaces in the major car parks.
Parking outwith Perth
Limited Stay Waiting is used in the centre of many towns
and villages to create a turnover of vehicles in high demand
areas.
Car parks in Pitlochry, Crieff, Dunkeld and Blairgowrie have
charges although in some locations these only apply in
the summer months.
Parking Enforcement
In October 2002, the Council took over responsibility for the
enforcement of parking restrictions from the Police and Traffic
Wardens. The Council has a team of directly employed Parking
Attendants who can issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) of £60
for parking contraventions and an in-house administration section
dealing with the processing of the penalties and other parking
issues.
