Proof of Residence

You must be a resident of Scotland and will be required to provide one of the following forms of evidence for verification purposes. Your name and a Scottish residential address must be clearly stated on the document:

  • Council Tax Bill (from the current financial year)
  • Recent Utilities Bill (e.g. gas, electricity, landline telephone bill) - issued in the last 3 months
  • Recent Bank Statement - issued in the last 3 months (Care of addresses on the bank statement are not sufficient)
  • UK Driving licence
  • Television Licence stating address and applicants name
  • Letter from care or residential home clearly stating the name of the individual and the period of time they have been resident in the home.
  • Letter from local authority confirming that the applicant is resident at an address within that Council area.
Where the applicant is a child - Child Benefit award letter stating the child's name and address (where the child is resident).
