Automatic Awards
Applicants have an automatic eligibility to enter the Scotland-Wide
Free Bus Scheme if they are in receipt of one of the following
awards:
1. The higher rate of the mobility
component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA).
Evidence - An original award letter from the
Department of Works and Pensions (DWP) or confirmation of award on
form DBD 384 stating that the applicant is in receipt of higher
rate of the mobility component of DLA. The award date must not have
expired and the evidence should be dated within the last 12
months.
2. The higher or middle rate of the care
component of the Disability Living Allowance
Evidence - An original award letter DWP or
confirmation of award on form DBD 384 stating that the applicant is
in receipt of higher or middle rate of the care component of DLA.
The award date should not have expired and the evidence should be
dated within the last 12 months.
3. Attendance Allowance
Evidence - An original award notice from
DWP or confirmation of award on form DBD384 stating that the
applicant is in receipt of Attendance Allowance. The award date
should not have expired and the evidence should be dated within the
last 12 months.
4. A mobility supplement under article 26A of
the Naval, Military and Air Forces etc. (Disablement and Death)
Service Pensions Order 1983 including such a supplement by virtue
of any scheme or order under article 25A of the Personal Injuries
(Civilians) Scheme 1983.
Evidence - an original award notice or letter
of confirmation from the Veterans Agency stating that the applicant
is in receipt of the mobility supplement of the Naval, Military and
Air Forces (Disablement and Death) Service Pension. The award date
should not have expired and the evidence should be dated within the
last 12 months.
5. Living in a care/residential home or hospital and who are
eligible for the higher or middle rate of the care
component of the Disability Living Allowance or Attendance
Allowance.
Evidence - An original award letter DWP or
confirmation of award on form DBD 384 stating that the applicant is
in receipt of higher or middle rate of the care component of DLA.
An original award notice from DWP or confirmation of award on form
DBD384 stating that the applicant is in receipt of Attendance
Allowance. The award date should not have expired and the evidence
should be dated within the last 12 months.
6. A disabled person's parking badge issued in
accordance with the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles)
(Scotland) Regulations
2000 also commonly known as a Blue Badge.
Evidence - individual should produce their current
Blue Badge which should confirm the applicants name and that it has
not expired. Where the person cannot produce the blue badge we
would also accept as evidence either the latest V11 vehicle
licensing reminder from DVLA showing the "disabled" taxation class;
or form DLA 404 from DWP confirming receipt of higher rate mobility
component of disability living allowance.
