Traveline
Traveline is a national information line for the times of public transport services, including bus, coach and rail. Their telephone service is available by calling 0870 608 2 608. In Scotland the service is available from 7.00am to 10.00pm, 7 days a week. Calls are charged at the national call rate.
Traveline is also available nationally by Minicom on 0870 241 2216.
In addition the public transport information is accessible through the internet on either www.travelinescotland.com or www.traveline.org.uk which allows 24 hour a day journey planning.
Transport Direct
Transport Direct, www.transportdirect.co.uk is a new web based resource that offers information for door to door travel for both public transport and car journeys around Britain.
For a user of the site, Transport Direct can:
- Compare coach/train journeys with car journeys to make sure you travel in the most efficient way.
- Find the quickest car route that takes into account predicted traffic levels at different times of the day so that you can make informed decisions about when to travel.
- Buy coach and train tickets from affiliated retail sites.
