Transport Tendering
The Council funds the operation of local bus services, education transport and Community Care transport throughout Perthshire and to certain locations in other Council areas. The vast majority of the transport services are provided by the commercial sector, with over 100 bus and taxi operators involved.
All existing transport arrangements with commercial bus and taxi operators are retendered periodically. In addition, significant new requests or demands for transport are tendered as and when required.

Tendering of Education Transport (Sports Conveyance) Contracts - July 2008
On 31 July 2008, the Council’s Public Transport Unit issued tenders for the provision of transport between schools and sports facilities. The tenders involve schools and sports facilities throughout Perth and Kinross as well as a limited number of sports facilities in Dundee City.
The contracts will be operated by PSV licensed vehicles constructed or adapted to carry nine or more passengers (PSV). The closing date for the receipt of tenders is 1600 on Monday, 25 August 2008.
A tender package has been sent to all operators who responded to the tenders for home to school transport advertised earlier in the year but any other PSV licensed operator who wishes to receive a package is invited to contact the Public Transport Unit on 01738 476533/476538 or email publictransport@pkc.gov.uk.
