Road bridges
The Council owns and cares for over 400 bridges. They range from
spectacular and iconic structures down to small but characterful
bridges that span burns.
There are also bridges associated with railways that are the
reponsibility of Network Rail, or on the trunk road network, that
are the responsibility of
Transport
Scotland.

Reporting damage to a bridge
Please report any problems to Clarence on 0800 23 23 23 or email
clarence@pkc.gov.uk
Incidents of damage through vehicle collision, storm damage, or
other causes are investigated as soon as possible. In the case of
damage to bridges by vehicles, reporting of the vehicle details may
mean it is possible for the Council to recover the cost of repairs
from the parties responsible.
Any bridge relating to the railway, including bridges over disused
lines, is likely to be the responsibility of Network Rail. Phone
Clarence and we will confirm ownership and contact Network rail as
appropriate.
