Street Nameplates

Street nameplates are important so that we can find where we are and where we want to go quickly and effectively. They are also necessary so that the emergency services can locate you and your street as quickly as possible.

The Council is responsible for repair and maintenance of street nameplates when this becomes necessary, due to accidental damage, vandalism or normal wear and tear.  There is a limited budget for erection of new or replacement street nameplates but nameplates will be erected if both sides of the street are un-named and there is a risk of the emergency services being unable to locate the road.

Additionally if a street nameplate is damaged or poses a safety risk to the public, this can be removed.

In the case of a new development, the developer is responsible for the erection of nameplates to the Councils' specification.

To report damaged, missing or illegible street nameplates  please call CLARENCE on  0800 23 23 23 or email clarence@pkc.gov.uk
