Pink sack collections
A service for households where there are issues with access for bin collection vehicles or with the storage of wheeled bins.
To check the waste and recycling collections your household receives please use our household collection date finder.
Delivery of annual supply
Pink sacks for the collection of general waste are issued every 12 months to households on this service (100 pink sacks per household a year). If you are not at home when the pink sack delivery is attempted, a calling card will be left for your household. To claim your annual supply of pink sacks, please bring the calling card left for you into the Council's Pullar House Office at, 35 Kinnoull Street, Perth, PH1 5GD.
If you are elderly or infirm and unable to collect your annual supply of pink sacks, please contact our Customer Service Centre on 01738 476476.
Purchasing additional pink sacks
Additional pink sacks can be purchased from the Council's Pullar House Office from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:45am-5:00pm. The cost of additional pink sacks is charged at £2.50 for a supply of 50 sacks.
If you live outside of Perth and your household needs to purchase additional pink sacks, please phone our Customer Service Centre on 01738 476476. Payment will be taken over the phone by debit/credit card, and the additional sacks can then be collected from the Kinross, Breadalbane, Pitlochry or Blairgowrie community campuses.
Access to recycling services
There are currently 104 recycling points and 9 staffed recycling centres spread throughout Perth and Kinross at convenient locations for householders. Please use our 'find your nearest' search facility to locate your most convenient Recycling Point or Centre.
Requests to change to wheeled bins
If you are currently on a pink sack collection for general waste and think you may have storage space for wheeled bins, please contact our Community Waste Team on 01738 476476, and your property will be assessed.
Correct presentation of pink sacks
Make sure your pink sack is put out at the agreed location by 7:30 am on the day of collection. Do not present pink sacks to the kerbside any earlier as bags may be burst open overnight by scavenging animals. Do not put any liquids, including paint, cooking oil or engine oil; or bricks, stones, soil, rubble or timber in pink sacks. Many of these items can be recycled at your local recycling centre.
Failure to present your bin(s) correctly could result in your bin(s) not being emptied, these will not be uplifted until the next scheduled collection date. Report a missed household waste collection and help us to investigate.
