Litter

Litter is an anti-social behaviour which is a blight on our environment and a financial burden. This is highlighted by the fact that it costs Perth & Kinross Council over £2 million per annum to clear up litter.

Organising a clean-up event

Taking part in a clean up is a great way for people of all ages to get into the fresh air together, enjoy some exercise, and make a real, visible difference to Scotland's environment. If you organising a local litter pick please register your event with Keep Scotland Beautiful, where you can also request a free clean up kit (tabards, stickers, sign-up sheet, poster etc).

Your group can also loan litter picking sticks and request disposable gloves and black sacks for free from the Waste Services Team, by phoning 01738 476476 or emailing recycle@pkc.gov.uk. If you would like assistance with the removal of sacks of litter once your event is finished, please notify us in advance to give us time to coordinate their removal.
