Electric vehicle charging points

Perth and Kinross Council have, in partnership with Transport Scotland, the Office for Low Emission Vehicles and the Energy Saving trust, installed chargers across Perth and Kinross.  Most sites have a rapid charger which, depending on the vehicle, can recharge an Electric Vehicle (EV) to 80% of full charge in just 20 to 30 minutes.  The rapid chargers are all triple outlet units that support all current rapid charging technologies - 43kw AC Mennekes/Type 2 connector, 50kw DC CCS/Combo connector and DC CHAdeMO connector.  In addition, a number of sites have 22kw AC chargers which have the capability of recharging a car in approximately 3 hours.

All units are currently free to use  and are accessed through www.chargeplacescotland.org using an RFID card, mobile phone app or by telephone.  Contact details and chargepoint ID's are displayed on all units.  Where parking charges apply, drivers are expected to pay for parking as normal.
