Creative Communities Fund is open and accepting applications

Following the success of the first round of Creative Communities funding (CCF) awards earlier this year, applications are being accepted now for the second round of funding.

Thirty thousand pounds is available, of which the CCF will grant up to £1,500 per project.  Applications must be for projects which deliver creative, inclusive activities, events which:

• encourage people to get involved in cultural activities that may not have tried before;

• demonstrate that culture is for all;

• showcase the talents of local people.

Closing date

The CCF programme will close either when all of the funds have been allocated or on March 9 2018, however successful projects must be completed by March 31 2018.

Applications are welcomed from community groups, charities, networks, partnerships, parent teacher associations, residents associations, arts organisations, geographical communities and other communities of interest. Projects can be a one-off, a series of regular events, a special exhibition, performance or something that reflects the community.

Innovative projects

Provost of Perth and Kinross, Dennis Melloy, said: "I am looking forward to hearing more about the benefits that this funding is helping bring to local communities in Perth and Kinross. We witnessed a number of very innovative projects benefit from the first round of funding. I would therefore urge people who want to  celebrate the diversity of their community and have projects in mind which will bring communities and generations together to celebrate and connect with their local culture and use digital technology in an innovative or creative way to apply for a share of the money."
