Spreading the word on family based care
As part of Perth & Kinross Council's current family based carer recruitment campaign, there will be opportunities during February and March 2018 to find out more about fostering, supported lodgings and adoption and how you can become a carer with the Council.
Education and Children's Services social work staff will be out and about as follows to provide information and answer any questions you may have:
• Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 February: 10am-4pm, main foyer at Perth Royal Infirmary, Taymount Terrace, Perth PH1 1NX
• Wednesday 28 February and Thursday 8 March: 11.30am-2pm, Perth College UHI (library corridor), Crieff Road, Perth PH1 2NX
• Saturday 3 March: 10am-2pm, Kinross-shire Better Place to Live Fair, Loch Leven Community Campus, Kinross KY13 8FQ
Following the community events, an open evening will also be held on Monday 12 March, between 4pm and 7pm at Almondbank House, Lewis Place, Perth PH1 3BD.
Anyone interested in finding out more about fostering, supported lodgings or adoption is warmly invited to drop in, when staff will be available to answer questions, and help complete enquiry forms for anyone wishing to take their interest further.
Lifelong Learning Convener, Councillor Caroline Shiers said: "These upcoming events are a great opportunity for anyone who may be interested in becoming a carer or adoptive parent to speak to our social work staff as well as current carers.
Foster carers, adoptive families and supported lodgings providers make a real difference for children and young people in Perth and Kinross every day. We want to ensure we can continue to place youngsters locally and this can only be achieved through recruiting more carers in our communities."
