Direct Debit

The Direct Debit form should only be completed if you have registered for Council Tax and have received a Council Tax bill for the property concerned.

If you have not registered for Council Tax at the property you must notify us of your change in circumstances in order that your account can be set up. 

Set up a Direct Debit

The simplest and most convenient way to pay your Council Tax is by Direct Debit.

You can choose when to pay:-

  • Monthly - on 1st or 15th over 10 months or 12 months
  • Fortnightly - on a Friday over 21 or 26 instalments
  • Weekly - on a Friday over 42 or 52 instalments

You can also set up a direct debit  by calling Local Taxes on 01738 477430 or you can download and complete a icon Direct Debit Form [202Kb].

If your account has progressed to a Summary Warrant you cannot set up a Direct Debit online.  You must contact a member of the Local Taxes Team to discuss your payment options.

Amending your Direct Debit

If you are already paying by Direct Debit and wish to change the bank account from which this is paid or change the payment date, you cannot do this online.

You must contact a member of the Local Taxes Team on 01738 477430 or download and complete a icon Direct Debit Form [202Kb].
