From 24 November to 10 December, this year's calendar of events will raise awareness of gender-based violence and encourage individuals and organisations across Perth and Kinross to show their support to help eradicate violence against women and girls.

The theme for this year is "Imagine Scotland Without Gender Based Violence". These 16 days of events serve as a pivotal step towards this vision.

Friday 24 November
16 Days Programme Launch
11.00am - 12.00pm, Perth Concert Hall
Join Jim Fairlie, MSP for Perthshire South and Kinross-shire and others to kick off the 16 Days of Activism Programme Against Gender-Based Violence. A performance will take place from the Rock Choir. Book here.
Saturday 25 November
Soroptimist Perth's Silent Vigil
11.00am, 75-85 High Street, Perth (outside Marks and Spencer)
Join Soroptimist Perth's Silent Vigil and stand in solidarity with them to raise awareness of violence against women and children.
The Universal Story
12.00pm, Perth Museum and Art Gallery

Sexual Harassment - The Truth
10.00am - 12.00pm, Soutar Theatre, AK Bell Library - Ages 18+ event
This event will look to explore the reality of sexual violence experienced by women and girls in the UK, the impact this has on survivors and the role we all play in ending violence against women and girls. Book here.

Seminar - How Does Media Shape Attitudes

Learn how the media, traditional and digital, shapes attitudes towards genders. Be part of the discussion on how to combat abuse over all forms of media. Book here.
Friday 1 December
Official Launch of Ask Angela Campaign in Perth and Kinross
This campaign is for people who feel unsafe, vulnerable or threatened and who will now be able to discreetly seek help by approaching venue staff and asking them for 'Angela'. A number of Perth City and Aberfeldy licensed premises are supporting this initiative. A Universal Night of Female Comedy

Tuesday 5 December
Violence Against Women Training
1.30pm - 3.30pm, Blairgowrie Area Office, 46 Leslie Street, Blairgowrie
This session delivered by the Rape and Sexual Assault Centre (RASAC) will explore gender stereotypes and their links to gender inequality and how this leads to gender-based violence against women and girls. Book here.
Bold Girls Ken Take Over PKC Facebook

Perth and Kinross Council's Facebook page will be taken over by Bold Girls Ken, Youth Ambassadors from RASAC. Bold Girls Ken is a youth-led campaign, part of the Young Women Know project delivered by NSPCC Scotland and the Young Women's Movement and Perth and Kinross Council and aims to educate young people to know what consent is. Join them on the day to support them and gain a deeper understanding of their work.
Wednesday 6 December
Perthshire Women's Aid Take Over PKC Facebook

Perth and Kinross Council's Facebook page will be taken over by Perthshire Women's Aid. Perthshire Women's Aid offers specialist knowledge and support to women, children and young people who are victims of domestic abuse in Perth and Kinross. Join them on the day to support them and gain a deeper understanding of their work.
Reclaim the Night March
5.00pm onwards - Council Building, 2 High Street, Perth, PH1 5PH
Join the Reclaim the Night March to show solidarity with women around the world living with fear and violence. Meet from 5pm onwards in the Civic Hall, Council Building, 2 High Street, Perth. The march will leave from here at 6pm. Everyone is welcome and please bring your family, partners and friends, banners and placards, and your voice to demonstrate your right to walk through the streets at night.
