Supplementary guidance - Delivering zero waste in Perth and Kinross

Draft Supplementary Guidance (LDP2)

The Council recently consulted (1st May - 12 June 2019) on draft Supplementary Guidance on Delivering Zero Waste for the next Local Development Plan. This Supplementary Guidance will replace the current adopted Supplementary Guidance.

What will the Delivering Zero Waste Supplementary Guidance be used for?

The Delivering Zero Waste Supplementary Guidance provides further advice as to how development can comply with the terms of the Local Development Plan policy EP9: Waste Management Infrastructure.  The guidance expands on the Local Development Plan policy and explains the approach to be taken towards waste in Perth and Kinross. It also provides guidance on the siting and design of waste management infrastructure.

Strategic Environmental Assessment

As part of the process we have to consult SNH, SEPA and Historic Environment Scotland on whether the plan, programme or strategy is likely to raise issues of significant environmental impact. Having consulted the consultation authorities, and considered the criteria set out in the Act, the Council considered that the Delivering Zero Waste Supplementary Guidance was unlikely to have significant environmental effects and therefore decided that SEA was not required.

What Happens Next?

The Delivering Zero Waste Supplementary Guidance was approved by Perth & Kinross Council at the Enterprise and Infrastructure Committee on 7 September 2016.

The Council now wishes to adopt this as Supplementary Guidance. Copies of the proposed guidance were submitted to Scottish Ministers on 14 September 2016. The proposed Supplementary Guidance will be adopted 28 days after this date unless Scottish Ministers direct otherwise.
