No One Left Behind - Employer Recruitment Incentive
Employers are being given an added incentive to help a young person into sustainable employment through Scottish Government's 'No One Left Behind' strategy.
'No One Left Behind' continues to deliver the Scottish Government's commitment to target support at unemployed young people with additional barriers.
The incentive provides employers with a financial contribution to the additional costs of recruiting and sustaining a young person in employment. It could be utilised in a number of ways including additional supervisory costs, training, initial travel to work costs or wages.
The aim is to encourage employers to recruit young people aged 16-29 into sustainable employment, including Modern Apprenticeships.
A payment of £4000 is available with an additional £500 also available where an employer pays the Living Wage. Timeline for release of funding to employers is as follows:
- at 4 weeks (£600) - no payment for less than 4 weeks
- at 13 weeks (£1400) - no pro rata payment between 4-13 weeks
- at 52 weeks (£2000) - no pro rata payment between 13-52 weeks
Employment offered must provide the participant with earnings of at least £8,000 per annum for the duration of the incentive period.
