|Agency Brief||We are Scotland's National Skills agency working with young people to enable them to be resilient career planners.|
|Target Client Group||SDS is an all age career planning service with core target groups of school pupils (S4-S6), unemployed 15-19 year olds and adults in transition.|
SDS offers 1:1 guidance and career planning support. Group work is carried out in schools focusing on My World of Work and Career Management Skills. We run small employability workshops using Career Management Skills and support young people to develop their own confidence and skills to enter and sustain positive destinations.
Employability Fund programmes are available through Training Providers for unemployed young people in 3 age related categories linked to Stage 2, 3 and 4 of the Employability pipeline. SDS manage the contracts for these programmes which are delivered by Training Providers in Perth & Kinross.
|Eligibility||unemployed 16/17 year olds, 18-24 year olds and 25+.|
|Referral||We receive referrals through schools, other Partners and self referral.|
|Outcome||Positive destination for the young person.|
|Progression||To the next stage of the pipeline.|
Stage 2 Barrier Removal - Examples of this is barrier removal activities and confidence building, support to develop core skills such as numeracy and literacy, holistic activities linked to individual needs and employability skills.
Stage 3 Vocational Activity - Examples of this may include job search, work experience, employability skills and accredited pre-employment training for core skills.
Stage 4 Employer Engagement and Job Matching - Activities may include employer engagement through work experience and job matching, mentoring and supporting clients in the work place.
