Curtain goes up on 2019 Solheim Cup with Gala Dinner at Perth Concert Hall

The curtain-raiser to the 2019 Solheim Cup - the Solheim Cup Gala Dinner - will take place in Perth tomorrow (Wednesday 11th September).

The Gala Dinner at Perth Concert Hall will showcase Scottish hospitality to guests hailing from Scotland, Europe and America. Attendees will include the players on the Solheim teams, PING Junior teams, event officials and sponsors.

Three Perthshire chefs have been specially selected, to work together to design a menu made-up of locally-sourced products for the prestigious occasion.

A road closure will be in place in Perth City Centre on Wednesday 11th September to accommodate the event. Mill Street and the Concert Hall Plaza will close from around 5.30pm until the guests leave the venue at around 10pm. Pedestrian access will be maintained. The closure will be along Mill Street from the George Street junction to the Kinnoull Street junction.  Motorists parked in the car parks in Mill Street will be able to exit from the car parks after 5.30 pm  - via the Kinnoull Street junction.  Parking attendants will be on hand to assist vehicle flow.

The band Clannadonia will be performing outside the Concert Hall from 6pm - 6.40pm and a Solheim Cup projection will be beamed onto the wall of the museum from 5.30pm onwards. Members of the public are welcome to come along to see the VIP guests arrive and enjoy the atmosphere.
