Changes to Covid-19 restrictions December 19
We note the announcement made by the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon today (December 19) regarding the changes to the restrictions in relation to Covid-19.
Please note that schools will be open for pupils and staff for the remainder of the current school term (Monday December 21, Tuesday December 22 and Wednesday December 23).
Pupils and all staff should report as normal.
All school staff should return to the school they are based at on Thursday January 7 as planned
From Thursday January 7 our schools will be open for the children of key workers and those from vulnerable families.
Further information on all other arrangements for schools will be provided on Monday 21st December; this will also include clarification about the definition of key workers.
The easing of restrictions over the Christmas period has been reduced to 25 December. On Christmas day only, three households can meet indoors up to a maximum of 8 people but only if it is essential to do so. No travel outwith Scotland or from the rest of the UK to Scotland is permitted unless it falls within specific conditions. Travel within Scotland is permitted as long as you can return home on the same day, unless you are part of an extended household.
Perth and Kinross and all other Scottish mainland Councils will enter Level 4 Coronavirus restrictions on Saturday 26 December.
All non-essential shops, pubs and restaurants will be closed. Takeaways may continue to operate. Travel between level 3 and 4 local authorities is not permitted unless for specific exemptions.
The tougher rules have been introduced to control the spread of Coronavirus and a new, more transmissible strain of the virus.
We will provide a further update as soon as it is available. For more information please refer to https://www.gov.scot/news/new-guidance-issued-for-the-festive-period/
