Applications open next month for early learning and childcare places

With the expansion of local funded early learning and childcare (ELC) provision almost complete, Perth & Kinross Council will be opening applications for 2021-2022 places in its own settings from Monday 18 January 2021.

Parents and carers can apply online from 18 January 2021 at http://my.pkc.gov.uk/service/ELC_apply.

As part of the expansion roll-out, the new streamlined online process was introduced at the beginning of 2020, with applications managed centrally, in an effort to make applying easier and more efficient for families.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the expansion of funded ELC hours from 600 to 1140 has progressed well in Perth and Kinross during 2020.  As well as term-time hours, families also have the choice to access 45 or 50 weeks of provision a year in both partner provider and many Council ELC settings, which are designed to support the youngest residents of the area and enable their parents to return to work, education or training.

Where settings offer 45 or 50 weeks provision, they will be open 8am to 6pm with a range of attendance options available to best meet families' individual needs.
