Learning Curve Relaunches

The Learning Curve will relaunch on June 30.

A range of additional courses, engaging events, and adult learning programmes will be available, including:

  • improving your English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL),
  • enhancing reading and writing skills,
  • Food & Hygiene Level 2 certification,
  • learning basic digital skills
  • ASDAN Accredited short courses in football, gardening, art and volunteering.

This creative, vibrant space has established itself as a fantastic and welcoming safe haven, providing diverse adult learning opportunities, community support and a platform for local community groups and organisations to host drop-in sessions and share their news.

Excitingly, one of the key highlights of the relaunch is the introduction of the Conversation Café, starting on June 30 and recurring on the last Friday of every month from 10am to 3pm.

The Conversation Café will be a buzzing space, with local organisations offering their time and free expert advice. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak to advisers directly and book further appointments.

Among the organisations participating include, but not limited to:

  • PKC Community Learning and Development Team
  • Mindspace
  • Social Security Scotland
  • Business Gateway
  • Home Energy Advice Team
  • Culture Perth and Kinross
  • LGBT Youth
  • PKAVS
  • ESOL Conversation Club

Individuals looking to practice and improve their English can join the ESOL Conversation Club every Friday from June 30th until July 28th. Come along from 12.30pm until 1.30pm and practice your English with friendly staff.  No need to book, come along and bring a friend. You can also sign up to various classes from Tuesday to Friday, suitable for different levels of ability.

A free foundation computer skills course will also be available to adults over 16 including school leavers, students or people looking to improve their digital skills for employment.

Starting on 7th July from 10 am to 12 Noon, participants will be able to gain a solid foundation in using Google Suite Tools, understanding computer add-ons, navigating browsers, comprehending website structures, and finding out all about LinkedIn!

If this sounds like your type of course, make sure to reserve your spot quickly as spaces are limited! Book your space online now.

To find out more information about any of the above courses, or if you're a local organisation who would like to take part in the conversation café, please email, call 01738 477092 or visit Adult learning hub.
