Boat Brae, Rattray / Wellmeadow, Blairgowrie Resurfacing Works

We will be carrying out remedial resurfacing works at the junctions of Commercial Street and Wellmeadow, and of Balmoral Road and Boat Brae in Blairgowrie and Rattray for five nights from Monday 4 to Friday 8 September 2023.

To complete the works safely and efficiently and with the minimum of disruption, they will be carried out in two phases under restricted road closures between 6pm and midnight each evening:

  • Wellmeadow/Commercial Street phase: Monday 4 September to Wednesday 6 September. The official diversion route during the works for Commercial Street will be via Terminus Street and Back Brae. We anticipate some increased congestion at the existing traffic signal junction and will have a member of traffic management staff in place to manually control the lights during the closure times to help minimise delays. For Wellmeadow, diversions will be via Reform Street and High Street and via Leslie Street and Reform Street.

  • Boat Brae/Balmoral Road phase: Wednesday 6 September to Friday 8 September. This phase will see the junction with Balmoral Road closed and Boat Brae will remain open with two-way temporary traffic lights in operation each evening from 6pm to midnight. The official diversion route will be via Hatton Road, with parking suspended and a 20mph speed limit in place.

Please see the location map (PDF) [1MB] for further details of the works areas and official diversion routes.

Some changes to local bus services will be in place during the works and further details of these will be available on buses and at bus stops prior to the start of works, as well as on our Public Transport News page. For the Commercial Street phase, some bus services will be re-directed to temporary stops in the Wellmeadow near to Davidsons Chemists.

Vehicle access to properties within the works areas will be maintained when works allow and it is safe to do so. Some delays should however be anticipated.

Access for pedestrians and emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout.

We regret that there will be some inconvenience during the works and would thank residents and motorists for their patience in advance.
