We intend to carry out essential road resurfacing work on the A822 Front Street, Braco from Thursday 21 September 2023 for approximately nine days, weather permitting.
To complete the works safely and efficiently, a full 24-hour road closure will be required for the period of the works. This will include the weekend to ensure the works are completed on schedule. To minimise disruption to residents and reduce delays in accessing properties, the resurfacing will be done in two phases:
· Phase 1: Thursday 21 September for approximately four days; road closure from north of the raised table at Greenhaugh Way to north of Smiddy Brae.
· Phase 2: Monday 25 September for approximately five days; road closure from north of Smiddy Brae to the 30mph speed limit north of Ardoch Bridge. The intended start date for phase 2 may change depending on progress on phase 1.
Official signed diversion routes will be in place for traffic during the works, depending on direction of travel:
· Northbound via A9 (North), Gleneagles junction, A823 and A822
· Southbound via A822, A823, A9 South, Dunblane junction, B8033, A9 North and A822.
Please see the location map (PDF) [588KB] for the phases of the works and the official diversion routes.
Vehicle access to properties within the site area will be permitted when works allow and it is safe to do so; some delays should be anticipated due to excavation of the road and the laying of the replacement road surface. Traffic management staff will be on hand throughout the works to assist with residential vehicle access.
Emergency service vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.
On waste collection days, please present your bin as normal.
Shuttle buses will be operating during the works. Details of replacement services will be advertised at local bus stops/shelters as well as on our page and social media channels. Parents will be separately advised of any changes to school transport provision over the period of the works.
Some inconvenience should be expected during the resurfacing works; we apologise for this and will do our best to keep it to a minimum. We would like to thank residents and motorists in advance for their co-operation.
