Office space at Pullar House marketed for rent

Office space in Pullar House is now being marketed for rent as Perth and Kinross Council explores the possibility of creating an integrated public service estate in the centre of Perth.

Perth and Kinross Council has a lease on Pullar House in Perth City Centre that expires in September 2025.

Under the terms of the current lease, the Council has an option to renegotiate the lease, walk away or purchase Pullar House outright at market value.

An options appraisal presented to Councillors in October indicated the most cost-effective option would be to purchase Pullar House and rent the building, or sub-let parts of it to other organisations, including those in the public and third sectors. Marketing of the office accommodation will allow the Council to better gauge interest from other parties before the Council makes a final decision on the future of Pullar House in August 2024.

Integrated public sector hubs are already operating successfully in Perth, where the Community Safety and Community Alarm Teams share Scottish Fire and Rescue accommodation at Perth Fire Station and in Crieff, where services are co-located with Police Scotland in James Square.

Council leader Grant Laing said: "We are in talks with a number of different people about Pullar House and marketing office space through Ryden will allow us to properly test the market before Council makes a final decision on its future.

"This is a significant building in the heart of Perth so it is important we have as much as information as possible before coming to any conclusions, both for the Council and the city centre itself."

To ensure business continuity and mitigate risk, concurrent work is continuing to identify suitable alternative office provision, public access points, storage and other specialist accommodation to ensure that the Council can proceed to mothball and exit Pullar House should the business case for purchasing the building be unviable.

The office space is being marketed by Ryden.
