Vehicles used in the D-Day landings more than 80 years ago will take a starring role in the City of Perth Salute on Sunday, August 4.
The Salute is a free, family-friendly event that features a parade through Perth, massed bands and performances and entertainment on the North Inch.
This year's event will also commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
Among the attractions on display will be two identical D-Day Landing Jeeps as used by the Allies during the invasion of Normandy.
The vehicles are being brought to the event by Perth businessman Morris Leslie
He said: "The City of Perth Salute is always a tremendous event that brings the crowds out. We drove these two jeeps to Normandy for the commemorations in June and its fantastic to be able to share these vehicles at the event. It's an important part of history and I think people will be fascinated to see the jeeps in Perth complete with sand from the Normandy beach."
Bailie Chris Ahern, Perth and Kinross Council's Armed Forces Champion, added: "The City of Perth Salute is always an outstanding event and this year promises to be extra-special. I look forward to seeing a big turnout on Sunday."
"I'd like to thank the organisers and EventScotland for their support of this event."
Paul Bush OBE, Director of Events, said: "I am delighted that EventScotland is supporting the City of Perth Salute through the National Funding Programme for what is set to be an extra special edition of the event.
"The Perth Salute is always a uniquely Scottish event that brings the community together to enjoy and, with the 80th anniversary of the D Day landings being marked, the 2024 event should be a poignant and memorable experience for everyone."
On Sunday, the event will kick off with a grand parade featuring massed bands, Second World War vehicles and community groups. The parade will set off from Thimblerow towards the North Inch via High Street and Tay Street.
At the North Inch there will be a host of entertainment from acts including the World's Premier Military style display team, The Imps Motorcycle Display Team and the world famous, Red-Hot Chilli Pipers.
Visitors can explore the Salute Fringe which includes the popular Mela Market, Salute Market, including street food vendors, WWII reenactors, Militaria and WWII vehicles, from 12 Noon until 4pm.
Additionally, Balhousie Castle will be open, with guided tours at 11am and 2pm, offering a unique glimpse into history. Contact the Castle to book the Tours.
