Some of the youngest residents of Perth and Kinross are unable to remain with their birth families and need to find adoptive parents in the local area.
In the upcoming National Adoption Week (25 November to 1 December 2024), Perth and Kinross Council is calling on prospective adoptive mums, dads and families to get in touch and find out more.
On Wednesday 27 November, a drop-in session will be held by our Adoption team from 10.00am to 12noon at Almondbank House, Lewis Place, Perth. If you think you could make a lifelong difference for a child, please come along for coffee, cake and a chat with the team who will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the adoption process.
Convener of Families and Learning, Councillor John Rebbeck said: "If you can offer a loving, safe, secure and permanent home for a child, you could become an adoptive parent with us. Currently many of the children needing an adoptive family are having to be placed outside Perth and Kinross, separated from their local community and support network and we do not believe this is in their best interests. I would encourage anyone interested in beginning their journey towards adoption to come along to the drop-in session and find out more."
More information about adopting with the Council is available from our Adoption pages; alternatively you can call the Adoption team on 01738 472260, or email adoptionenquiries@pkc.gov.uk.
